Razz came to us from Josh and Michelle Farnsworth at Cosmic Bengal, and she earned her place here through a combination of rare genetics and an even rarer temperament.
As a seal mink spotted torbie with glitter, she carries a truly exceptional color combination. Her warm mink tones, striking torbie patterning, and shimmering glitter coat are unlike anything else in our program — and what she brings genetically is just as exciting. Because Razz is homozygous for the leopard cat agouti gene (Apb/Apb), every kitten she has will carry it — and paired with CheeseTake, who carries the domestic non-agouti (a), charcoal-patterned kittens are possible in every litter. Between her 2 snow color genes (cs/cb) and CheeseTake's single color point (C/cs), kittens can come out brown, seal mink, or seal lynx point, with girls as torbies and boys potentially red.
Her physical conformation — what breeders call "type" — isn't her strongest suit, and we're candid that selecting for color ahead of type isn't the conventional approach in Bengal breeding. But when paired with a boy who carries strong type, her kittens should show an improvement over her own. And her temperament made the decision easy — Razz is one of the most adaptable, gentle, and openly affectionate cats we've ever known, and that disposition is exactly what we want passing to her kittens.
At BestView, our goal is to produce cats that are healthy, genuinely friendly, and beautiful — and Razz is a meaningful part of that.
